both sets of towels I bought washed up horribly. They pilled completely in the dryer and now look after one wash like they are 5 years old. would not recommend anyone to purchase these towels.

I washed the towels before using them but there was still a lot of dye that came out when I rinsed the washcloth. They are definitely fluffy and soft.

These towels replace a set that cost MUCH more--and these are actually nicer! Only caveat: When you wash them before your first use, you'll get a lot of "lint." A lot. Don't be put off, though, they're still fluffy and soft after several washes. They may not be hotel quality, but they're super for everyday use!
