Best Bread Pudding

5 slices of white bread, broken into small pieces
1-qt. milk
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Place bread in a deep baking dish. Combine milk, sugar, eggs and salt. Pour over bread, mixing thoroughly. Fold in raisins and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350° F for 1 hour or until custard is set and browned.

Sauce:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Melt butter. Mix in rest over low heat. Serve over pudding.

  • Great flavor but very runny

  • Did exactly per recipe. Flavor was awesome but extremely extremely runny. I even added more bread.
