This is a very nice accent piece. The detail on the bird and nest are real looking. Looks like real pewter. I bought this for myself, but I would definitely buy another one as a gift.

The sculpting on this little bird & especially the nest is EXQUISITE! Although it is made of ceramic & merely painted pewter, I would not be at all embarassed to have a guest or client pick it up. I honestly don't think the finest, painted, porceline rendering of a bird in a nest - not even by Lladro - could be finer or more tasteful.
