Turnip Green Casserole

1 can of chopped, cooked turnips, drained
1 can of cream of celery soup
3/4 c. mayonnaise
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. horseradish
1 tsp. sugar
3 c. cornbread crumbs

Mix first 7 ingredients together. Pour into a casserole dish and top with cornbread crumbs and bake at 350° F for 30 minutes.

  • I have always eaten greens with vinegar, but not my Mother-in-Law. She loved this recipe when I made it. I did reduce the vinegar in half for her benefit, and you could still taste it. I have been making this recipe since it came out in the Country Door catalog in 2006. Thank-you for sharing this recipe Toni B. from Laurel, MS.
