Cranberry Orange Sauce

1 1/2 c. sugar, granulated
1/4 c. water
1 lb. fresh cranberries, rinsed & sorted
1 orange, medium sized
1/2 c. confectionary sugar

Combine sugar and water in a large glass bowl; heat 3-4 minutes until the sugar is dissolved, stirring once. Then add the cranberries and heat (in Microwave), covered, for 5-6 minutes until the berries are soft. Grate the peel from the orange and squeeze juice. Remove the bowl from the microwave and add the grated orange peel, juice and confectionary sugar. Stir until the confectionary sugar is dissolved.

May be served warm or cold. Provides a wonderful scent throughout your home! Store in the refrigerator.

Microwave Power level: High; Cooking Time: 10 minutes; Yield: About 3 1/2 cups.
