Holiday Nut Bread

3 c. flour
3 Tbsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. whole milk
1 c. walnuts, chopped
2 Tbsp. Crisco shortening, melted

Sift all dry ingredients together; add the egg and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix well. Add the nuts and the shortening. Mix well again. Pour the mixture into a 4x9 loaf pan and let sit 30 minutes and bake at 325° F for 50-60 minutes, or until toothpick tested in center comes out clean.

Makes 2 loaves. Great traditional bread for Thanksgiving and Christmas morning breakfast…yummy!
