Iced Almonds

Iced Almonds

2 c. almonds, whole, blanched
1 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat the almonds, sugar and butter in a heavy skillet, over medium heat. Stir constantly until the almonds are toasted and the sugar is a golden brown (about 15 minutes). Stir in the vanilla. Drop into clusters on a baking sheet or foil; cool.

Makes a great holiday treat!

  • This recipe was in Better Homes during the late 50's or early 60's. It's so easy and delicious. My family would be so disappointed if I didn't make these Iced Almonds every Holiday Season. You must use butter to get the scrumptious flavor and you must also blanche the almonds if you don't buy them already blanched.
