Mom's Caramel Sauce

1/2 c. half & half
1 c. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. real vanilla
Sea salt, very small pinch
1/2 stick of butter (4 Tbsp.)

Mix all the ingredients in a sauce pan over low to medium heat and whisk for 5-8 minutes or until thickness is desired. Cool the mixture, and store in a jar with a lid. Refrigerate any used portion.

You can use it on cake, pies, or as a dipping sauce for fruit.
