These chargers are "domed" . The part that touches the table is about 3 to 4 inches. The plates rocked back and forth and were unstable. You would be unable to cut anything on the plate because it would tip. I was disappointed and had to return them.

Although these bird nest charges look wonderful, they are molded too bowl shaped. Plates to not sit flat on the bottom. If you try to actually eat off the plate on this charger, the plate sides all around at the slightest pressure. As much as I tried to make it flat, the wire framing just wouldn't allow it. Would be more useful if they sold as singles to use for storage or shelf decor. Very disappointing.

These Charger plates are excellent. Going bird design in kitchen. Price is unbeatable. I love them.
