Happy New Year! Champagne toasts, confetti and party hats are in order. Greet guests with a glam front door update that won’t fade at the stroke of midnight. Here are a few quick tips, tricks and ideas.
4 Tips for New Year's Eve
Front Door Decorating
1. MAKE A TULLE GARLAND
Skip the traditional garland and frame your door in tulle. It’s a very affordable material and adds a lot of depth and glitz. Be sure to add lights! (Hint: this is a great way to get a little more mileage out of your Christmas strands).
3. HANG A CLOCK
New Year’s Eve is a countdown! Greet guests with a big statement clock. It will only be outside one night. Or make a clock using house numbers. Cut 2 pieces of balsa wood for hands.
Hint: Create a clock gallery wall outside. Set each clock for the different time zones around the world. Celebrate New Year’s Eve the world over!
4. CREATE A PARTY FAVOR DOOR HANGER
Use a plain wood disk to create a New Year’s Eve door hanger. Drill 2 small holes about 2 inches apart in back. Use fishing line to create a loop hanger. Hot glue glittery stems, party favors and a greeting.
Hint: Add a basket of party favors for guests to grab when they arrive.
