Rated 5 out of 5 by Kdbrewer09 from The most talked about entryway! I cannot say how much I love this bench. It’s perfect with tiny imperfections and all! The storage is a plus, it’s beautiful and everyone that comes in loves it. It sits in our entryway and it’s so comfortable I find many times we have migrated over to it to sit down! Thank you ! Thank you! Thank you! And yes it was easy to assemb and had all the parts. The detail work is awesome.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JMH from Terrible quality This item is very poorly made. We had to fix the side where it was nailed to the base as it was not centered properly with nails sticking out. Screws are too long. It arrived very dusty and needed thorough cleaning. Stain is very uneven. When we got it all together the first time it was sat on the seat split and broke in two pieces. It is not worth any price and the shipping it too high to want to send it back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by goldengirl from Awful! I received this as a Christmas gift and feel so bad, but it is absolutely TERRIBLE quality. Although it is pine wood (not MDF), it is extremely rough and poorly finished. Think poor quality instead of rustic. There is a huge difference. The finish is grossly uneven with splinters everywhere. On assembly, the screws are too long, and splintered right through the wood on the ends of the bench, completely runining it. PLEASE don’t buy this product. You will be sorely disappointed. The idea is lovely, but the execution is poor at best.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DCV from Its cute. It's cute. Was pretty easy to assemble, but we did tighten the longer screws and they did go through the wood and made the side split. Definitely need shorter screws. Package arrived in good condition, though it has a TERRIBLE odor. It is made in China, keep that in mind. I feel like shipping was outrageous and expensive. I did t wait long for it after ordering. If it's on back order, that must tell you something about it. Hope the smell dissipates.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Maspen from Not like description or look like picture After waiting months of it being back ordered, I received it a couple weeks ago. Soooo disappointed! Half of it has no stain on it, real rough wood. I know it said destressed but that is not what destressed looks like! Too heavy to send back so my husband said this summer we will refinish it to look nice. Oh and when he screwed it together the screws on the end were to long and went through the wood.splintering it. No, not happy at all

Rated 1 out of 5 by 4x4 from Very poor quality & craftsmanship This church pew finally arrived after a two months on back order. The package was in poor shape it looked like it was dropped once or twice. After opening the box I started to assemble and noticed the direction we not legible and could not use them. The only thing that was clear was what size screws and where to use the two different types. I started to put the side on to the seat base. I even added wood glue to give it a stronger fit. The screws are tow long and if you try to tighten them all the way down it will push though the out side of the pew. I will have to go buy new screws 1/2" shorter. I assembled it with these screws just so I can put the back on. Next step when trying to put the back on the main support on the back that is screwed the side is cracked and will need to be taken off and replaced. Sorry to say but if are going to buy this pew I sure hope you are handy in the Woodshop. I will try to contact the sellers for a refund.

Question & Answer
I see it says solid wood--what kind of wood? I need to be able to sand and finish this pew in a different color, which is why the kind of wood matters. Thank you!
I haven’t received mine yet but the most common woods that have “knots” are pine and cedar. My guess is it’s pine since cedar is used for other uses. I don’t think there’s any way to know if it’s veneered. I’d be careful sanding; you might run into partical board.
