$50 Front Door Makeover [Video]
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
The weekend’s almost here. I’m Robin with Front Door Friday. Who says front door decorating has to be expensive? Today I’m giving myself a $50 budget to give this door a winter makeover.
You’ll be surprised what $50 can do. It’s easy to personalize an inexpensive store-bought mat. Just use a stencil and paint. You can also create your own stencil using discarded cardboard. Have fun, be creative and think outside the box.
Gather a variety of flower pots. Collect tree branches and twigs. Paint the branches white and add glitter while the paint is still wet. Did Amazon play Santa over the holidays? Recycle some boxes and make a big snowman for your porch. You will need four different box sizes.
Wrap the largest three boxes in a white plastic table covering. Stack and glue together. Create facial features using buttons. Wrap the small box in black plastic and place it on top for the hat. Shirt boxes left over from Christmas? Let’s make a snowman door hanger. You’ll need white and black plastic table coverings and some buttons.
Wrap the boxes in white plastic. Wrap a smaller box in black plastic and attach to the top. Attach a piece of scrap ribbon to the back for reinforcement. Glue on twigs for the arms and buttons for the face. That’s it for this week’s Front Door Friday.
I encourage you to step out and try some front door decorating this weekend. To learn more check out the Country Door Blog. And I’ll see you next Friday. Happy decorating and God bless.
