– [Bethany] So, as you may know,
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Lex, I know that this subject hits really
close to home for you.
– [Lex] Yes, my aunt is fighting breast
cancer and I’d love to create some
DIYs for this.
– [Bethany] Great.
So obviously I think pink should be our
main color for this front door.
But how do we use pink without it looking
too much like Valentine’s Day?
– [Erin] Just add a little bit of
black to your designs and stick to
one shade of pink.
Black will anchor the color and calm down
the pastel pink.
– [Lex] That gives me a great idea for a DIY
that could also make a great gift.

INTERVIEW WITH BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR
– [Lex] So what does the pink
ribbon mean to you?
– [Lex’s Aunt] Well, to me,
I think of a large group of people that
have been affected by breast cancer.
Mostly women but men as well.
But, certainly, if I wasn’t part of that big
group, I wouldn’t have been able
to experience this much love and support
by others.
I mean, that’s one thing that really was
unexpected.
When I found out that I had breast cancer
was how many cards people sent and just
the amount of love.
That’s what life is about anyway.
Just more love.
And I was luckily blessed with more of
that because of the pink ribbon.
