How to Make Mason Jar Candles

Five different clear glass jars with lit white candles placed in sand on the bottom of each one.

Jar candles reflect a warm, relaxed country style that make everyone feel at home. Canning jars and glass jelly jars make great-looking candle holders for outside. Fill the jars about halfway up with sand (depending on the height of the candle) Sand keeps the candles upright, and their flames stay inside the glass (caution, the glass will still become hot). These containers can be left outside during the warmer season, but be sure to place the lids on when you’re done burning to keep out rainwater and bugs. When it is time to light them, use a strand of dry spaghetti.Ā  It willĀ formĀ a very small flame that’s easy to guide down into the jar.
