Spring Home Decor is a Celebration of Color

Satisfy A Dose Of Spring Fever With These Spring Decorating Ideas

Soon you will be on your way to “springing forward” and your spring home décor can follow suit. Start thinking now about how you can add bright colors, energetic patterns and lively springtime motifs to every room in your home. Start with the vibrant natural shades of green, then add bright colors from there to wake up and revitalize your space.

Start With a Coat of Paint

That would be a coat of paint or two. There is nothing like brightening up your wall color to give any room a recharge and spring is the perfect time to instill some fresh energy. Not ready to do a whole room? Identify a good accent wall and see how spring colors can lift the room’s mood. Refresh any room’s color scheme with paint color tips from Country Door’s interior designers.

Front Entryway

Start at the very beginning and add a spring wreath for the front door. It is the perfect way to welcome guests and springtime into your home. Once inside, give your entryway an update. Switch out wall art—here is a place to add a pop of color. Freshen the accent pieces on your console table and add something botanical, like a terrarium or an arrangement of lush greenery.

Dining Room

Start thinking ahead to Easter and spring gatherings with your spring table decorations. A garden print table runner and a pair of bunnies set the mood. Dining chair slipcovers can breathe new life into your dining area and get you ready for the change in season. Matching kitchen linens and a fresh set of dishes in coordinating patterns add fresh springtime flair.

Whether you find inspiration in water-colored shades of purple and blue lilies, or brightly hued daisies and tulips, this is the time to bring spring’s garden inside with oversized quilts, a charming piece of wall art or a vase of garden blooms for your bedside table. Finish the room with a crushed voile panel curtain.

Living Room

Make your main living space inviting when you give it a refreshed look with spring colors. Start with a foundation of natural neutrals in earthy browns, mossy greens and sandy tans. Add elements of the outdoors with a foresty canvas print and linen pillow covers featuring embroidered trees. Breezy sheer curtain panels let in plenty of natural light and add a lightness to the space.

  9. I love all your decorating ideas. I am trying to update my kitchen and family room. I have to leave the golden oak kitchen cabinets, black appliances with some chrome. I have a large center island and the granite counter tops are off white with black, grey and little splashes of golden colors, with rustic black grey white plank flooring. I love the colors of your “springing forward” and Living room colors, do you think these colors would go with the golden oak cabinets? I am trying to update the cabinets and then I will add the furniture.

    1. Cindy, thank you for your comment.

Yellow toned woods like Oak are easy to accent. To accent warm wood colors you can use cool colors or neutrals with cool undertones, such as blue, green or purple or grays with those undertones. These spring colors will brighten the room and instill some fresh energy. The article, Decorate with Color, has more tips and guidelines on picking accent colors.
