Country Door Celebrates 25 Years!
The world has changed a lot since we launched our very first Through the Country Door catalog in 1998. Fads have come and gone, and different decorating styles have traded places in popularity.
But we’re pleased to say that many of the country-inspired values our readers hold dear have remained firmly in place—the importance of family, home spaces that create a warm and welcoming environment, furnishings that have a time-honored, cherished appearance and festive décor that celebrates the joys found in each season.
From our very first catalog to our most recent, a variety of plush oversized quilts and elegant window treatments have created cozy bedroom retreats. Solid, farmhouse-inspired furniture has given homes a sense of heritage. And lush florals and festive décor accent every look from traditional to retro to modern country.
Some things—the best things—keep going strong. Thanks to our loyal readers, that’s why we’re still here, 25 years later.
Fall/Holiday 1998
Through the Country Door – Our very first catalog!
The holiday season of 1998 brought to people around the country a whole new resource of farmhouse-style décor, apparel and gifts.
Featuring a traditional country-plaid Christmas wreath, red wooden door and classic plank lap siding, the inviting message was clear: step through the country door to a place you’ll feel welcome in, where you can find all the cozy touches that make your house a home filled with favorite spaces.
Winter 2001
Popular Themes Find Devoted Followers
At the beginnings of a modern new century, Through the Country Door catalogs nonetheless showcased in their products values of heartwarming heritage and tradition—qualities that resonated with a growing number of loyal customers and followers.
Page after page of the Winter 2001 catalog highlighted settings of heartfelt hospitality and fanciful farmyard accents, and demonstrated that the country kitchen is so often the heart of the home.
Many of these early motifs are ones that have remained popular in the catalog through its 25 years: roosters, chickens, cats, angels, florals, country plaid, and other farmstyle inspirations.
Summer 2004
Plenty of Helpful Tips & Advice
The country rocker on the porch says it all: summer is the time to kick back and relax, and Through the Country Door is the catalog to make every farmhouse-inspired lifestyle complete, indoors and out.
The Summer 2004 catalog offered décor in choices of cozy Cottage, warm Rustic, simple Shaker, French Country and Victorian styles, among others.
And the catalog was sprinkled with other delightful surprises: helpful decorating tips, tidbits of collectible history and wonderful recipes from old family cookbooks.
Fall 2006
Pick Your Favorite Decorating Style!
Autumn is one of the most beloved seasons for enjoying the full splendor of country-inspired living.
The Autumn 2006 catalog immediately captures the sense of fall’s beautiful transition with its array of pumpkins, gourds and squashes, amber lighting, straw ornamentation, cranberry wreaths and warm, inviting room from within.
Summer 2009
Modern Country & Outdoor Delights
With its fresh variety of colors and crisp lines, the Summer 2009 catalog celebrated mix-and-match ideas for easily creating custom looks in and around your home.
Patio furniture and creating idyllic retreats outside extended the reach of the farmhouse-inspired home to garden and lawn areas as well. Plenty of signs, planters, watering cans, figurines and even games were available to create a garden paradise where family and friends could feel right at home.
Summer 2013
Americana! It’s a theme as old as… America itself.
The Late Summer 2013 catalog gave a country-style salute to this proud heritage with a red, white and blue-spangled cover, plus plenty of patriotic products inside to showcase a spirited décor.
Mix-and-match décor continued to grow in popularity, and versatile indoor-outdoor rugs added to the ease of quick style changes for increasingly busy modern families.
Winter 2015
Shimmering, Glimmering Holiday Success
Festive sparkle set the tone for the Holiday 2015 Through the Country Door catalog, with page after page filled with glistening trees, ornaments, garlands, wreaths and mantel toppers.

Fall 2018
Our Catalog Has A New Name & Look!
Through the Country Door changes its name and logo with the Fall 2018 catalog: the title is shorter—Country Door—and the logo is bolder.
This was very much in response to loyal readers who recognized the catalog mostly as “Country Door.”
In what would prove to be one of its most popular years, Country Door begins to regularly feature and highlight the products most sought after by buyers over time, leading with bedding. Other key categories remain in place as well: kitchen, rugs, window treatments and rugs.
Winter 2021
It’s Time to Celebrate Again!
By the time Holiday 2021 arrives, most of the U.S. is still navigating its work-and-home balance due to social restrictions caused by the infectious disease Covid-19.
Many Americans see their home at this time as a true sanctuary and safe haven. Country Door makes every effort to help people create a home that reflects their values and personal style in every corner of their house.
The holiday is also a time to celebrate, and in this year easy gift-giving is highlighted so that people can reach out and once again reconnect with meaningful joy.
Spring 2023
Modern Country Refreshes Decorating Style

The new arrivals for the season are rich in bright colors, refreshing bedding patterns, matching bath décor and fun themes like bees, bunnies, buffalo check, easter baskets and whimsical outdoor figurines.
