Decorating Your Home with Quilts
5 Creative Ways to Display Your Quilts
Someone once said, “A bed without a quilt is like a sky without stars.” We couldn’t agree more, in fact we think the inviting charm of a country quilt can add the perfect touch to any room in your home. Their versatility instantly makes a room more inviting, lived-in and beckoning. Use quilts in the master or guest bedroom to make every season cozy and comfortable. Quilt sets boasting strong earth tone colors of wine, nutmeg and indigo blue create a welcoming haven from cold weather nights. Floral prints and bright-colored patterns keep things light and airy for spring and summer.
Display quilts on a quilt rack in your foyer for a welcoming touch that takes your quilts out of storage and showcases them where they can be enjoyed every day. If the quilt is a treasured family heirloom it gives everyone the chance to enjoy it, while it’s kept in a safe place.
Smaller quilts, often called lap quilts are stars in the family room. Not only are they beautiful and colorful, but they are also a great cover-up for family movie night.
Don’t forget the nursery! In the crib, draped on a rocking chair or hung on the wall, all offer ways to make baby feel right at home. It can become the focal point of the nursery while adding color and warmth.
Skip the cushions and top a window seat with a quilt. There is nothing better than snuggling in a cozy quilt and reading a good book.

Quilts bring such fond memories from my childhood. Quilts were a necessity being poor. My mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, used every scrap to make the most beautiful quilts and to keep themselves warm when there was only wood heat. As a child I loved being warm and cozy under them and the room having that “nip” in the air.
Now as an adult, as my budget allows I collect quilts. Cotton/cotton are the best in my humble opinion. The ones my grandmother and great-grandmother made are my most prized possessions. I have ordered several cotton quilts from CD and have not been disappointed. I use them to not only decorate my beds, but also as tablecloths, shower curtains, the back of my couches and of course great for picnics. Thank you CD for having great quilts to continue the “quilt legacy” in my family. My kids are already hooked!
